Given the work environments and expectations for individuals in science, and the fact that a career in science is very often a way of life and far more than a job, work-life balance satisfaction can be elusive. While advocating for change in policies and systems continues to be important, women must find the personal work-life balance strategies that work for them within the systems in which they work. This interactive program will help participants:
6:30 - 7:00 light dinner and networking
7:00 - 8:30 presentation
8:30 - 9:00 questions and networking

Most time management tips feel like just more items on the To-Do List. Sustainable Time Management, on the other hand, addresses fundamental issues at the core of the trouble. Learn how to cultivate the ABCs of Sustainable Time Management -- Attention that’s flexible or focused as needed, Boundaries that both protect you and connect you to others, and Choices made in tune with your truest values. Group and solo experiences in this time management lab give you hands-on practice in dealing with distractions, priorities, procrastination, overwhelm, reminders, email, and more. You’ll find not only relief from time troubles but also the sense of satisfaction, sovereignty, and service that comes from managing your time sustainably.

Science Club for Girls (SCG) is a unique afterschool based program that works with girls in grades K-7, exposing them to the wonders of science in a fun way!
Led by female volunteers, the girls have the chance to be positively influenced by women who are already in science or studying to have a career in science, engineering, math or technology. Volunteering requires only 2 hours a week of
your time for 10 weeks in the Spring.
SCG is seeking women (and a few men) to serve as Science Club leaders and help show young girls that science, math and engineering can be fun. SCG provides anengaging curriculum, all materials, and snack for you to lead
powerfully. SCG serves in four Cambridge public schools (all T accessible) and has clubs in Newton, Boston (T accessible), and Lawrence. The clubs begin the last week of February and end the first week of May.
